"Clothed in Courage"
"Clothed In Courage" - Without a King: Judges | Week 5 - Judges 6
Fear has a way of shrinking our world. It makes us hide. It distorts our identity. It convinces us we’re not ready, not qualified, not enough.
In Judges 6, Israel is oppressed and afraid, hiding in caves. Gideon is threshing wheat in a winepress—underground and out of sight—when God meets him and calls him something he doesn’t feel: “mighty warrior.”
Before God rescues His people from Midian, He confronts their idolatry. Before Gideon leads publicly, he must obey privately. Before courage shows up in battle, it is born in the presence of God.
Courage is not the absence of fear.Courage is obedience in the presence of fear.Courage is not self-generated — it is Spirit-clothed.
And we don’t need a fleece for reassurance. We have something greater: the cross of Jesus Christ.
If fear has been shaping your decisions, your faith, or your future — this message is for you.
